Sharp example of the rare FIAT 124 Sport Coupe Series 1. Clean and complete driver, solid body, minor surface rust issues addressed, fresh tune up, ready to enjoy 1960’s classic.

The Fiat 124 Sport Coupe was based on the contemporary 124 sedan and featured bodywork styled by Mario Boano, designer of the Ferrari 250 GT Coupé “Boano.” It was a very popular model in the day, but few clean examples are still on the road. Coming from a long term ownership, this FIAT 124 Sport Coupe is in very good overall condition. The body work has recently had minor surface rust repaired and shows very well in FIAT’s Blu Cannes (497) shade from a full repaint several years ago. Chrome trim, glass, badges and bumpers are all in good condition. The 1.4L twin-cam inline-four was designed by ex-Ferrari engineer Aurelio Lampredi. It features a single Weber carburetor has just been tuned up and runs very well, shifting through a five-speed manual transmission. The 14″ Daytona-style alloy wheels wear Cromodora-branded center caps and are fitted with older tires with ample tread. Four-wheel disc brakes provide reassuring feel and ample stopping power.

The interior is attractive and complete, showing some wear and patina, but presenting well. The front bucket seats are trimmed in black cloth with vinyl sides and are accompanied by a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl. Woodgrain trim accents the dash along with the center console. The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts attractive Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline accompanied by a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges indicating fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 5,286 miles, but actual total mileage is unknown. The aftermarket stereo features a removable faceplate and is connected to Kenwood speakers mounted in the rear parcel tray.

The car was used very little in the past few years. It has been recently serviced with a fluid change and carburator adjustment and is in good running order. Manufacturer’s literature, service records, a tool kit, and spare parts will accompany the car. Overall a very enjoyable and special FIAT in nice shape, ready for fun and games. Will come with California title.
