Rare commemorative 6th and final Martini Edition with unique livery and interior. Last of the EVO I series, very original and stock, in superb overall condition. Currently In our inventory in the US.
A remarkable example of one of the most collectable EVO models. This example comes from a Japanese collection with very low miles - 40,300 mi, in excellent condition, regularly maintained and recently fully serviced and ready to enjoy. Exterior shows very well with lustrous white paintwork in near perfect order and all the distinctive touches of the Martin 6 livery and badging. Engine compartment is clean, stock and in very neat condition. The chassis underside is solid and rust free. Many of the various suspension arms and linkages have just been replaced with new components. The car is cosmetically and mechanically A1 in all regards.
The interior is in excellent condition that showcases the bold turquoise Alcantara with contrasting red stitching and red seat belts. The dash is fully instrumented and a serious spectacle. A premium Japanese SONY cassette head unit controls the period correct audio system. A commemorative plaque on the console and carbon fiber shift surround are specific details. Rear cabin and door panels in virtually new condition. Overall interior is special and dramatic in a fashion that only the Italians can create.
After dominating the Constructors World Rally Championship for the sixth consecutive year in 1992, Lancia chose to build a special limited-edition Delta HF Integrale EVO I to commemorate the occasion - the “Martini 6”. This would be the last Martini edition with 310 units produced in total. This special edition model is defined by posh white paintwork with signature Martini Rally stripes in a unique pattern that flares over the front and rear wheel wells. The dramatic theme is reinforced by white finished mag wheels. Unique to the Martini 6 are three “World Rally Champion” decals on both front doors and the front bumper, along with HF decals on each rear side panel and the famous Martini Racing script on the rear spoiler. A large Lancia crest decal is located discretely on the roof.
While the exterior treatment is subtle and conservative, the interior makes an obvious statement. The racy high-back Recaro bucket seats and interior trim were finished in a unique turquoise Alcantara, with HF logos embossed on the headrests. A bespoke 3-spoke steering wheel is fitted, along with a carbon-fibre-trimmed Quickshift gear lever in a console which features an individual plaque inscribed with the cars unique serial number. For an improved feel, Lancia fitted Teflon bushes to the gear linkage. The overall effect is stunning and distinctive.
Mechanically, the Martini 6 cars are identical to the first-generation EVO Deltas, notably the final version of the non-catalysed Integrale, offering 210 bhp from the 1,995 cc 16-valve turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine. Throttle response and driving feel are noted as more immediate and visceral than the more refined character of the later EVO II models. Also fitted are a five-speed manual transmission, all-wheel drive, front and rear independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes.
Never sold in the USA, now eligible for import under the 25-year rule. These are very exciting cars to drive and fairly practical to own. The Delta Integrale EVO I is one of the hottest, hot hatchbacks ever built and the Martini 6 special edition is the most revered by collectors. Very rare globally and virtually unknown in America, they have become very popular with savvy collectors recently and investment value is promising.
As a road car, the Integrale is a truly joyful experience, just like on the rally stages. Its main rival in the early days came in the form of the Audi Quattro. The Delta was smaller, quicker and much lighter on its feet. The Integrale is a true drivers’ machine and delivers a huge amount of feel and feedback that makes them irresistible.
