Successor to the legendary J40, the J70 introduced in 1984 was available in several body styles. The 70 Series was designed to retain the off-road capabilities and durability associated with the iconic 40 Series. The 1996 model was last in this series and features many cosmetic and feature upgrades.  This one is the 2-door, short wheelbase model with right hand drive.   Sold in many markets worldwide, the J70 was never available in the US.

A legend around the world, this compact true-off roader is in incredible condition.  Outside, inside and under the skirts overall condition is virtually like new.

Clean, classic styling features stout chrome bumpers, a removable soft top over front and rear compartments, and ample ground clearance.  The interior features durable vinyl upholstery and rugged rubber mats, ready for the back country.

The 1HZ Toyota Land Cruiser 4.2 litre (4164 cc) diesel inline 6-cylinder 12-valve OHC (overhead camshaft) is of the IDI or indirect injection design, and delivers maximum power of 96 kW (129 hp) at 3800 rpm and maximum torque of 285 N⋅m (210 lbf⋅ft) at 2200 rpm.

The short wheelbase chassis features live axles and leaf springs on both ends.

The Land Cruiser J70 has a global reputation for durability and off-road capability.  Here in the USA it is simply the coolest alternative to a Jeep Wrangler.
