This Morris Mini-Minor is a true barn find discovered in rural Washington state. It had been carefully stored since 1964 and found in remarkably original condition inside and out. The Mini has documented 1 owner heritage as it was purchased new by a Washington BMC car dealer. As a promotional stunt the dealer drove the car to the NADA convention in San Francisco from Washington, publicizing the trip via telegrams along the way. It comes with the original purchase check, documents, manuals and a copy of the article in NADA magazine regarding the promotional stunt. The car is registered with the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust.
There is absolutely no rust and the original paint is in fair condition. The as-built interior has been steam cleaned and is in good condition. All body details are correct with new NOS bumpers front and rear and a new windscreen. The engine unit has been fully rebuilt to stock specifications and this Mini runs very well indeed. The complete braking system, from master cylinder to wheel cylinders, has been redone and correct dual leading shoe brakes fitted as an improvement to the marginal stock brakes.
A very original and complete Mini from the most interesting period in quite nice condition. Historically correct and definitely collectable. Perfect as a driver now or the basis for a full restoration depending on the buyer’s personal plan.
